This is the blog of architecture student and designer Ceri Williams.
I use this site to post on-going projects and keep myself producing work. More can be seen at the following website which shows work undertaken with collaborator Tina Mole: www.WeAreHOTCAKES.net

V&A Photos online

The V&A have put some photos of our installations online. They have this great one of the tree as well as a shot of the table at dusk and some of visitors decorating their commemorative bunting.

Friday Late at the V&A

The two installations HOTCAKES built for the V&A on Friday went really well. It was a lot of work and we learnt a huge amount about production, construction and budgeting. Can't wait to work on similar projects in the future! Our friends Tommi Zhou and Jamie Hughes worked on the design and construction with us. Also thanks to Gwyn and Celine for helping with the early morning installation.

HOTCAKES at the V&A

Tina and I have been commissioned to design and construct an installation at the Victoria & Albert Museum as part of their April Friday Late event. Falling on the same day as the Royal wedding, we are creating a rig of bespoke bunting for the gift shop and a street party table for the courtyard. We have finished screen-printing the bunting and are now working on the construction of a 5m long table.

The event is free and open all day with special events taking place between 6.30 and 10 in the evening. Some further images are available on our website www.WeAreHOTCAKES.net

Slowscape on Arch Daily

Slowscape has been published on Arch Daily; "the world's most visited architecture website"! Please leave comments on their site as we hope to learn from this project and hear people's opinions.
Big thanks to Stuart Franks for working hard to publicise our project.

Who are HOTCAKES?

www.WEAREHOTCAKES.net Lanches!
Well... kind of! There's still stuff to refine and update but it's online and will be completed this summer when there is more time. The site was built by award winning web designer Dan Walters.

Fragmented London

This is a grabbed snapshot taken when I happened to have the kaleidoscope with me on my way into college one day. There are some interesting results when used from a high up vantage point and in more open spaces.

Fragmented Photography

Photographs taken with mirrored devices that fragment and reform the image. Four different devices have been developed to get a 'cubist' view of a site with pictures taken from a single position. The new image challenges the viewer to look again at the their preconceptions of the built environment and imagine new possibilities.
